The Mansion on the Sea
The Mansion on the Sea is an historically rich hotel located on Duval Street, and originally built in 1897.
Ernest Hemingway, and Leonard Bernstein, are among the famous figures that have been hosted here. The iconic Mansion has welcomed five U.S. presidents and various members of royalty in the past. It has served as a private residence, a casino, a speakeasy, a social club, a museum, and a hotel.
Ironically, the Mansion was originally built as a wedding present for the youngest daughter of William Curry, upon her marriage to Judge Vinning Harris. Curry’s “grand gesture” eventually resulted in the iconic Mansion on the Sea.
